OBJECT
Accumulate evidence and obtain a guilty verdict before your opponents do the same.

PLAYING THE GAME
Each player is dealt 6 cards face down to start. Going clockwise from the Dealer, the first player begins by drawing a card from the draw stack so he has 7 cards.

He must either (a) Proffer Evidence, or, (b) if he does not have evidence, he must discard into the Discard Stack with play continuing clockwise.

PROFFERING EVIDENCE
If a player has evidence, he can try to get it “admitted into evidence”. To do so, he must “proffer the evidence”. The player proffering evidence does so by placing an evidence card face up in front of himself.

ATTACKING EVIDENCE

Any of the opposing players may immediately attack the evidence by being the first to place their matching colored objection or impeached (sword) card on top of the Evidence card. Note: players making incorrect objections are “Out of Order”, see Special Cards.

If no one attacks the evidence, the evidence is admitted into evidence.

RESPONDING TO ATTACKS
If a player objects to the evidence, the player proffering the evidence must respond to the objection with a matching colored response (shield) card. If the appropriate defense is made, the objection and response cards are discarded. The evidence is “admitted”. Play continues clockwise.

If the objection is not responded to, the Evidence card and objection cards are discarded, and the successful objector goes next.

WINNING THE GAME

Each evidence card has a weight number. The first player to have 12 points of weight admitted into evidence wins; or,

At the beginning of a player's turn, before drawing a card, if a player has 3 or more points of evidence, he may elect to "Go to the Jury". For each point of evidence the player has, one Guilty Verdict card is set to the side in a pool. Then, "Not Guilty" Verdict cards are added until the total number of Verdict cards in the pool is 12.

A bailiff is selected to shuffle those cards. Then, the player selects a card randomly from the 12 Verdict cards. If he selects a Guilty card, he wins. If he selects a "Not Guilty", he loses, and play resumes clockwise with the remaining players.
